Printing Tips

Printing tips for the brochure and the stories collection:

Brochure

The PDF shows fold instructions, crop marks, etc. To print the brochure content only, use the Snapshot tool to highlight the printable area. The constraints of margin setting on desktop printers make printing this document ready for double-sided photocopying a bit of a challenge - this PDF is probably best suited to printing A4 or A3 sheets for use as posters.

A Collection of Stories

Saving the document to PDF from Macromedia Freehand has meant the colours on the cover are more muted than when working in the source program ie. this cover looks somewhat different to the version available at the launch.

In terms of large print runs, photocopying the inside pages from a greyscale master copy is recommended - it copies quite well. For best effect on the covers, however, print off individually, whether in colour or greyscale. If you experience problems printing some of the graphics eg. incomplete pictures, try printing the page/s in question one at a time. When sending the PDF to your printer, under Page Handling, set Page Scaling to "None" and check the box for "Auto-rotate and Centre". This should position the document correctly for double-sided photocopying into booklet form. Please note that there is now a space on the first page for you to position an agency stamp or sticker - to 'personalise' the resource.
