Transport Register
The register maintains a list of vehicles within its service area that community organisations make available for other community organisations to use on a self drive, contribution to cost basis.
Costs vary from agency to agency but commence at $25.00 per day plus petrol for a 12 seater mini bus.
Wheelchair Accessible mini buses are available.
Organisations must become members of the register to access these vehicles and the additional insurance benefits provided through the register.
Membership
Types of membership :
1. Loaner member
- Loaner members make vehicles available for use by other register members
- Loaner members can book vehicles through the register and pay only the vehicle contribution cost
Membership Cost: NIL
Insurance
- All vehicles placed on the register must be comprehensively insured.
- Extra insurance is provided by TransAccess to cover the cost of accident excess (up to $1000) in the event of an insurance claim
2. Borrower member
- Borrower members borrow vehicles from other organisations listed on register
- Borrowers members pay membership fee and vehicle contribution cost
Membership cost
Casual membership (single use/once off)
- Unfunded Non profit community organisations - $5.00 per usage
- Funded Not for profit community organisations & schools - $20.00 per usage
- Local Government & Private Community Organisations - $30.00 per usage
Annual membership (unlimited use of register)
- Unfunded Non profit community organisations - $25.00 per year
- Funded Not for profit community organisations & schools - $100.00 per year
- Local Government & Private Community Organisations - $150.00 per year
Insurance
- All vehicles placed on the register must be comprehensively insured.
- Extra insurance is provided by TransAccess to cover the cost of accident excess and no claim bonus (up to $1000) in the event of an insurance claim.
- A maximum of $5000 (max $1000 per week) for a replacement vehicle
Liability
- All members are liable for damage up to the cost of the excess of the vehicles insurance
- In the event of an insurance claim the excess will be covered by additional TransAccess insurance
- The vehicle user may be required to pay the excess on a claim and claim it back through the register insurance
Vehicle Contribution Costs
- All members are charged at the same rate
- The cost varies from vehicle to vehicle but is usually between $25.00 - $50.00 per day plus replacement of fuel used.

- 10 - 12 seater minibuses (some with wheelchair access)
- 5 seater sedans & stationwagons
Licensing requirement
- Full Australian licence (not probationary) required to drive all register vehicles
- Driver age restrictions may apply
